The “Heal Our Men” Program

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.” 1 Timothy 6:11 KJV Like women, men have a unique and powerful tasking within the Kingdom. The Heal Our Men program grew out of a Holy calling to address the hurt and abuse men have suffered as a part of the Fall into sin. The consequences of this pain are far-reaching: broken families, ongoing abuse, poverty, and generational curses. I have seen men in my life feel like they can’t express themselves and speak their truth; I have seen men hide trauma within isolating narcissism or be falsely labeled as narcissists for simply struggling through this trauma. Men haven’t been given a safe space or safe place to be able to heal in the warm embrace of Scriptural truths. Men need to be able to talk things out, form, and grow to be more like Christ. Our culture, families, and the souls of the men we love all hang in the balance. For centuries our society has told men to be detached from their emotions. The acceptance and projection of this façade of masculinity leave men invulnerable and emotionally unavailable to their families. “Jesus wept.” John 11:35 KJV Men need to be able to communicate and feel safe in conversations. They need places where they can cry and process what they are feeling. Our society needs men equipped to confess struggles, proclaim truths, and conquer in Grace and servant leadership. In the absence of Biblical masculinity, men develop hardened hearts, anger, rage, emotionlessness, and pride. Men suffer anxiety and depression born out of childhood trauma that they weren’t allowed to express and heal from. Bottom line: men need to be loved too; they need healing just as much as women. We cannot leave them out. This 4-week program is designed to help men comprehensively heal so that they can take their place in the home. We prepare men to lead their families well. Our dedicated curriculum is structured with loving, Godly mentorship designed to help men go through their healing journey and not feel alone. As mentees become mentors, we will see our men reach back to help a young generation of boys and encourage them to love well, lead strong, and glorify God. We also offer One-On-One Coaching sessions to help men heal and explore their purpose.
